Vinyl is a popular type
of fencing that comes in various styles and sizes. Up until now using vinyl
as a gate material has been difficult because it entailed either extruding
an alloy into the vinyl or swinging the gates off of substantial posts or
pillars. Vinyl also has the tendency to sag more than other gate materials
which can be a frustrating nuisance after installation. Furthermore,
automatically opening any vinyl gate with a traditional opener is impossible
due to the nature of how other openers work combined with vinyl’s high
flexibility and lower strength.
By using a Turnstyle
gate opening system with your vinyl gate all of these problems are
eliminated. Turnstyle Enterprises Inc. makes mounting systems specifically
designed to manually or automatically open vinyl gates of any size and
design. The fully adjustable design resides entirely inside of the existing
vinyl gate post and allows the customer to fine-tune the gates on several

Farms are popular
places to see tube gates. They are widely used on pastures, arenas, barns,
and in fence rows. Turnstyle offers individuals the option to finally be
able to feasibly power these types of gates in these settings. The
obstructive and costly nature of traditional openers has prevented this in
the past. The Turnstyle gate mounting systems work great with livestock
because of their sleek and sturdy design that stays virtually hidden and out
of the animal’s way.
The Turnstyle gate
opening system can handle the weight and size of these gates. The sometimes
tremendous length and corresponding weight is simply handled by using either a
barn (pillar) mount or balanced center mount. If a powered gate is not desired,
then a manual system can be used. A manual system provides unsurpassed
smoothness and versatility over hinge systems.
Privacy Fence
Privacy fence delivers
peace and quiet and sense of security. However, sometimes it is desirable to
transform a section of privacy fence into a gate. Privacy fence sections are
tall, compact, and thick and this all translates to a significant amount of
weight. Anyone that has ever tried using any kind of hinge to swing these huge
sections knows all to well the annoyances this entails. The sizeable amount of
weight leads to pronounced sagging and that hinge really only provides a pivot
point so you can pick up your fence section, carry it open and set it back down
in the open position. With a Turnstyle mounting system all of this can be a
thing of the past. By mounting a post in the center a privacy fence section
sagging is completely eliminated and opening and closing the section can be done
by the touch of a finger. If a larger opening is desired then a privacy fence
section can be hung off of each side of the mounting post, which is essentially
still a center mount configuration, so that sagging is still eliminated. Then
when privacy is once again needed the sections can be easily shut and secured
with a ground peg or gate lock.
Why bother with hinges
that will leave your privacy fence sagging and unattractive when a Turnstyle
mounting system will give you a seamless privacy fence gate that doesn’t
take away from the look of the rest of your fence.

Whether
your Turnstyle Gate installation is outfitted with Turnstyle Gates patent
pending Remote Power Actuation System or a simple, passive Turnstyle Gate,
the benefits are substantial.
Competition
Starting with an
existing gate that already swings consistently and freely, conventional gate
openers rely on a mechanical linkage (linear actuator) that is attached
roughly to the center point of the gate at the active end of the actuator
while the base of the actuator is attached to a bracket several inches
(toward the opening direction of the gate) from the hinge point of the gate.
The gate is then opened or closed via the actuation of the linear actuator.
A force vector triangle analysis of this type of configuration identifies
the significant forces the linear actuator must generate in order to
overcome the inefficiency that is inherent in this type of configuration.
Typically, the mechanical forces that are required to move the gate
increases substantially as the gate moves to it's "closed position. As the
gate reaches the "open" position the force required to move the gate is
reduced, however, it is still significant and inefficient. Small changes to
the geometry of this gate/actuator/mounting bracket triangle due to sagging
gates, moving/settling gate posts, loose linkage connections, exposed hinge
hardware, etc. contribute significantly to the performance of the gate.
Frequent adjustment and sometimes re-installation is required to keep the
system functional and free from binding. Such undesired changes to these
type of conventional systems can easily create additional inefficiencies
that the linear actuators cannot overcome. Hence, the gate "binds up" and
stops working.
Our
Gates
The patent pending
Turnstyle Gate Remote Power Actuation System opening mechanism utilizes a
more efficient, constant, force design to actuate a gate. Turnstyle Gates
Remote Power Actuation System utilize an integrated mounting post and power
actuator that delivers simple rotational motion of the mounting post itself.
The force required to open or close the gate is minimal and constant
throughout the range of motion. Actuating the gate this way results in a
power actuator that is reduced in size and power consumption. Achieving a
full 90 degree opening of the gate is easy.
Additionally, the power
actuator and rotating mechanism are located inside the rotating post away
from most environmental concerns. Since the actuation mechanism is contained
entirely within the gate post, movement of the gate post has little to no
affect on the performance of the gate and the actuation of the gate.
An added benefit to the
Turnstyle Gate Remote Power Actuation System is that a gate or fence section
can be easily mounted to the Turnstyle System at the center of the gate
itself. This results in a "balance gate" system that virtually eliminates
sagging, binding, nonoperational gates by significantly reducing the loads
on the gate post itself. "Balanced Gates" require less support from the gate
post and significantly outperform traditional gate post/gate installations.
All these features
notwithstanding, the Turnstyle Gates Remote Power Actuation System is
quicker to install, more reliable, safer, more energy efficient, more
versatile and more aesthetic than any product on the market today.
